Bug reports

The quickest way is from the app itself: Settings › About › Report a bug opens an email with your app version and device details already filled in.

Before you write, please try the following:

  1. Update to the latest version and check whether the problem still happens.
  2. Restart the app, then the phone, and note whether it persists.

If you’re writing from somewhere other than the app, please include:

  • App version (Settings › About).
  • Android version and phone model.
  • Steps to reproduce the problem, as precisely as you can.
  • What you expected to happen, and what happened instead.
  • Whether it happens every time, sometimes, or only once.
  • A screenshot or screen recording, if possible.
  • The exact text of any error message.

Or start from this pre-filled email, which already has the questions in it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it sync between devices?

No. Pearform is local-first: your habits live in a database on your phone and nowhere else. To move to a new phone, please export a backup and import it there.

Where is my data?

In the app’s private storage on your device, plus any backup files you choose to export. Backups are plain JSON in a folder you pick, on a schedule you set.

Which Android versions and devices does it support?

Android 8.0 and up, on phones, tablets and foldables. The app works entirely offline and is designed to work with small phones to foldables.

Is there an iOS version?

No, and none is planned at the moment, but never say never! Pearform is built natively for Android in Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.

What happens if I stop paying for Premium?

You keep everything you already made, but limits apply when creating or changing new items.

How much of Material 3 Expressive does Pearform use?

All of it, more or less. The whole app is built on Material 3 Expressive: springy motion, wavy progress rings, shape morphing, grouped list rows, toggle-button groups, a big collapsing title on every screen and a floating pill navigation bar. Colours come from your wallpaper on Android 12 and up.

Can I use Pearform offline?

Yes. Everything works offline, because everything is stored on your device. The only thing the app ever sends is a reviewer access code, if you redeem one.

Which languages does it speak?

English, Finnish, Swedish, Norwegian and Japanese. Dates and times follow your phone’s region format.

Does it have widgets?

Three, all free: Today with tap-to-tick rows, a Streak widget for one habit, and This week. There are also launcher shortcuts for New habit, Activity and History.

How do I report a bug?

From the app’s About screen, Send feedback asks whether it’s a bug and opens an email with your app and Android versions already filled in. Or write to [email protected].
